Captain Brian Schiff

Brian Schiff is a seasoned captain for a major US airline with a deep-seated passion for general aviation. Over his career, he has accumulated an impressive 20,000 hours of flight time across a wide range of aircraft and has flown 98 different types.

 

As an esteemed member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI), Brian's expertise and experience have earned him the distinction of being an active 38-year Gold Seal flight instructor and FAA Safety Team Representative. Possessing multiple flight instructor ratings, he is known for his exceptional ability to simplify complex procedures and concepts while maintaining a contagious enthusiasm for aviation and teaching.

 

Furthermore, Brian has been an FAA-designated examiner. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and his Master of Science Degree in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri.

He is passionate about educating students and professional pilots and is committed to upholding the highest standards of aviation instruction and promoting aviation safety.

Captain Barry Schiff

Capt. Barry Schiff holds 13 type ratings, every flight instructor rating, and every category and class rating issued by the FAA (except “blimp”). He is a retired Lockheed 1011 and Boeing 747 captain for TWA and his 28,000 hours has been accumulated in 347 different types of aircraft.

     He’s been an FAA-designated check airman on the Boeing 767, an FAA-designated flight examiner and has been appointed by the FAA as an accident prevention counselor for life.

     In addition to holding five world aviation speed records, Schiff is the recipient of a Congressional Commendation, the Louis Bleriot Air Medal (France), the Gold Proficiency Medal (Switzerland), and an honorary doctorate in aeronautical science. He also has been inducted as a Living Legend of Aviation and into the Flight Instructor's Hall of Fame.

     Schiff has written 1,700 magazine articles about flight safety, operational procedures, techniques and aeronautical theory. These plus his 13 books have earned him 11 journalism awards.
